Well, 5000 words may not be enough to fully express how I feel about these chips. Years ago, I purchased a bag of these in a small Asian shop in Augusta Georgia. It was love at first bite, I’m not being dramatic when I say I was obsessed. I ate that whole bag in record time. I assumed they would be easy to source, and went back to my hometown with none in hand.. oops. There was nowhere within 4 hours to get them. I figured I’d go back to the store, but no! A 4 hour drive later and the chips were gone. This started a very desperate search for a $7 bag of chips that didn’t end until 4 years later. I checked every Asian shop wherever I traveled, and used the locater on the website but never got lucky. I was checking some stores daily or weekly or what have you, because I wanted these chips so so badly! My friends, family, lovers, neighbors, nobody was safe from hearing about these random weird chips from Singapore that I could never source. Eventually the website came about, and the chips were so far out of my price range and never, never in stock when I had the money. Every few months I’d start the search again and leave empty handed, and I kept that going for so long. My boyfriend heard of the elusive chips many many times and I think he started to believe I am insane. A week ago, I checked one last time and.. a sale. I dropped everything at work, excused myself and spent $40 on 6 bags of chips. Chips.. in the middle of an economic panic. I felt like an idiot, but they arrived today and I’ve never been so happy. They were exactly what I remembered, I loved them, my boyfriend loved them, my cat pawed at the bag and took the top strip right from my hand. In case you can’t tell, I like these chips. I can rest easy knowing I have 6 bags of them in my cupboard.
